Improved transfer listings and more

Bubbles, FC Sunnyvale Developer 17 February 2010, 13:16

We've got a new update coming to Virtual Manager soon, and we're sure you'll love the improvements.

New transfer list
As an addition to the regular player search, we're introducing new and improved transfer listing functionality. The biggest news is that on the new transfer listing search page, you will be able to search for players with specific stats. New trade policy for untrained players
We have recently seen an increase in trades with player that have only a few or no trainings at all. It is impossible to get a sense of a player's fair market value if they have only trained a couple of times, since their potential has yet to be discovered. This has meant that many clubs have inadvertently bought bad players at prices that exceed their fair market value, which as you know, is against our rules. This means that our Cheat Hunters are then faced with the dilemma of whether they should:
Give the user the benefit of the doubt in order to protect good faith buyers, and thereby giving cheaters free reign to transfer credits among clubs
Not give the user the benefit of the doubt, so as not to let cheaters go free
There is really no good solution to this dilemma in our current system, so that's why we're introducing a new trade policy. In the future, a player must have at least 5 trainings before they can be traded between clubs (auctions, transfer list etc.). At the same time, we're removing the old policy that said that players under 20 years of age with fewer than 10 trainings could only be traded in 24 hour auctions.

Naturally, you can still hire players from free transfers, or from auctions that have been started due to the player getting fired or having their contract expire. The only difference here is that the previous owner club will no longer get credits from contract expiry auctions if the player has fewer than 5 trainings.

All in all this new policy will result in fewer good faith buyers getting banned and fined, while at the same time cutting down on cheating.

Facebook Connect
You will be able to connect your Virtual Manager club with your Facebook account. With a Facebook connection you will be able to get a weekly update on your Facebook wall, for instance when you've won a game. The update will include information about who you've beaten, your position in your league, etc. so that your friends can see what an awesome manager you are :)

In return for you telling the world how you're doing in Virtual Manager, we will of course reward you with some free days of premium :-)

We expect to have this new update ready for you within a week or two.
