Improved criteria for Talent selection

Bubbles, FC Sunnyvale Developer 25 March 2010, 10:45

We often get requests from managers to improve the criteria for awarding young players with the "Talent" distinction. What happens is that managers often cannot understand why their particular player was not awarded with the "Talent" distinction, while another player with poorer training was.

This happens because, previously, certain hidden factors about the player have weighed quite heavily in the selection process - factors which aren't visible to managers. So, we've listened to your requests and made some improvements to the selection process in order to make the result more understandable and realistic.

Starting this Sunday, the player's actual training results will be included as an important criterion in the selection. From then on, a player can only become a "Talent" if he has trained at least 5 times, and if the average of his latest training results is above a certain level, depending on the training ground.

The new selection process has been tuned to award the "Talent" distinction to the same number of players as before - only the distribution will be slightly different.

In short, the new criteria will ensure that players with a streak of poor training results do not get the "Talent" distinction until they improve.

We will of course monitor the results of the new selection criteria, and tweak them if necessary, so please drop us a note if you find examples of players that should (or should not) have been awarded with the "Talent" distinction.

...we have also been toying with the idea of perhaps running the selection process several times a week, or even once a day... what do you think of this?
