Happy New Year!

Rasmus Rønn Nielsen, The Dudes 31 December 2010, 14:10

2010 is drawing to a close, and therefore I would like to look back on our achievements and also gaze into the crystal ball of 2011.

We have really got something done in 2010. We have launched a total of 13 large updates for Virtual Manager. These have hold things such as a redesign of the club and manager profile, specific goal keeper stats, modernization of overall layout, new player search system, improved calculation of talent marks, improved newbie tutorial, new tatics editor, new conversation based mail system, new manual, thorough optimization of site navigation, new training group editor, new notification system (replace for system mail) at last but not least, the new season update system that allows us to keep the site open while it runs.

On the side, we have also put in a major effort to optimize the technical foundation of the Virtual Manager system. You have not yet felt the benefits from this work. But during the next years we will all feel the benefit from this work because it enables us to develop faster and make the site faster and more stable.

While the number of active users has been rather constant during 2010, an increasing number of you has decided to purchase VM Premium. We are very thankful for this and ensure you, that your money will be reinvested in making Virtual Manager even better!

For the programmers out there, I can tell that we in total made 4.225 commits (changes to the code) to our codebase! That is an increase of 78% percent compared to 2009.

We have a lot of ideas for 2011. There as so many things we want to get started with and so many features that can be improved. Especially we want to focus more on actually playing the game. Of course, all developers play Virtual Manager, but there is no doubt we can engage ourselves a lot more. The goal of this is to improve our understanding of what is needed and what must be improved in the game.

As I already said, we have a lot on the drawing board, and you will be hearing more about this before long :)

On the behalf on the Virtual Manager crew, I'd like to say thank you for 2010 and wish you a very happy new year!

We look forward to 2011 and we hope you do too! See you!
