Comments on critique of new stadium prices

Since we released the new stadium system, some managers have criticized the related price model. Somewhat generalized, it goes like this:

The progressively increasing seat prices is not properly thought out. They make it harder to advance in the game.

I'd like to comment on this standpoint.

We made the progressive seat prices to make it harder to increase your revenue as your club got bigger. Put in another way, we wanted to decrease the speed with which you could increase your daily revenue. Compared to the old stadium system, it is now easier for small clubs to expand their stadium, and harder for larger clubs.

Generally, this means that the difference in revenue is smaller between smaller and larger clubs. Hereby, the advantage of having spend a lot of time on the game decreases - and the advance of just being plain clever/talented increases correspondingly.

This being said, I agree that the new stadium editor in isolation means, that the top 10-20 largest clubs are harder to unseat. It is now more expensive than ever to build the largest stadium. However, we'd like to accept this downside if it means a more balanced and fair game overall. This increased balance will in time mean that there will be more challengers to the top spots. And to some extend, this effect will presumably neutralize the advance the largest clubs got from the new stadium system. Besides, remember that the clubs that today own a level 6 stadium have paid exactly the same everybody else will.
