Freedom to the people!

Rasmus Rønn Nielsen, The Dudes 13 May 2013, 13:05

After the release of the beta test, we received a great deal of feedback. Armed with this, we've re-evaluated our design choices.

(If you unsure what this beta thing is about, you can read our introduction.)

We've realised, that our decision about switching to "locked formations" was a bad idea. The drawbacks simply outweighed the benefits.

So that's why we've changed the new tactic editor. You can now drag around your players freely. We've also added a feature known from the old editor: Coloured cells are shown to indicate how well players play a certain position.

Also, we've adjusted the player/position appropriateness. For instance, a right midfielder will now have yellow cells in the left part of the midfield (in the old, they were red).

Additionally, some types of players have gotten larger favourite areas (green cells).

When making these changes we had to delete all beta tactics and beta matches.

One of the disadvantages to this change is that we no longer support formation changes during match (via the new tactics editor Adjustments). You can still make substitutes, mentality changes, etc.

The new editor is already online. Go check it out and setup your new tactic :-)
