The large scale match simulator test has begun!

Bubbles, FC Sunnyvale Developer 25 November 2013, 11:48

During Sunday's season update, we managed to create an entire season's worth of league matches for the new match simulator.

This means that large scale testing, which is the last step before the new simulator takes over the old one, has now begun. The test will show us if our servers can cut the mustard, and give us a chance to tweak and optimize match execution.

** For YOU it's a chance to test your mettle in the new simulator before we switch over! **

The new simulator has been developed completely from scratch, and there is a world of difference from the old one. Therefore, you WILL lose to teams you used to beat, or vice versa. The new simulator makes it a whole new game, and that means that you have to adapt your squad and your tactics.

Therefore, we recommend that you use this time to experiment with different line-ups and tactics, as your old style of play is guaranteed to NOT work the same way as before.

To get started, do the following:

  1. Check your match schedule on Team -> Coming matches under Beta-test
  2. Set up your new tactics on Team -> Tactics under Beta-test
  3. Try out your form and report technical errors in our bug report system

Notes!

1. The extra matches have NO effect on your players and your club

Points, energy losses, injuries, suspensions, entrance fees, player history and any other information normally stored or updated after a game will NOT be saved permanently for the extra matches.

Therefore, the matches have no effect on your team, neither negative or positive. It also doesn't matter if one of the test matches occurs at the same time as your normal league matches.

2. There WILL be delays and rescheduling of matches

This test is primarily a tool for us developers, so we'll be messing around with the simulator a lot while it is in progress. This means that we'll sometimes turn off match simulation, or reschedule certain matches.

3. If you report a bug, then INCLUDE A LINK AND TIME

All bug reports regarding the new match simulator MUST include a link to the match and the time at which the problem can be seen. Otherwise they'll be closed.

4. Only one bug report per issue

Please do not include several separate problems in the same bug report. Instead, write separate bug reports for each issue.

5. Do not make bug reports with requests for new or changed features

New features and tweaks, such as individual instructions, will only be considered after the new match simulator has replaced the old one. Please wait with such proposals until we have the time to analyse, select, and implement them. We will only respond to bug reports dealing with actual technical problems.
