Further Investment! [Mid Season Update]

Written 1 August 2018, 22:38

We're halfway through the season now, and Leicester Fosse have taken to Division 4 like a duck to water, sitting comfortably in the top half of the table. Things haven't gone quite as well in the cup competitions this year as the team has already been knocked out of the 'Newcomers Challenge' in the 1st round, and were knocked out of the FA Cup in Round 3 to a side that they perhaps should be beating. However, there has been further investment into the playing squad and we had a quick chat with the Chairman to tell us more:

How pleased are you with the start to the season and why have you felt the need to invest even more money into the playing squad?

I'm absolutely delighted with the start to the season that we have had, and it has shown just how good this squad is and it was really pleasing to see that we weren't going to need a massive overhaul of the team just to be able to stay in the Division.

The reason why we have made further investment is because we are an ambitious club with aspirations of playing at the highest level possible, and although we are happy with finishing midtable this season, we have our sights firmly set on getting ready for a promotion push next season!

Would you like to introduce the new signings to the fans?

I'm delighted to announce the signing of Murat Karpat, the new star striker for Leicester Fosse who is the new record club signing! I'm hoping he'll be a massive part of the team for many seasons.

We've also signed a new number 1, Ozer has joined us for a bargain price and he will offer a massive amount of experience at the back.

How have you been able to afford these latest acquisitions?

We already had some money in the bank from when we first took over, however, our ticket sales are looking really good and the income from them is constantly improving due to our loyal fanbase growing even stronger, and our youth programme is doing well and we are already reaping some rewards as shown by the following transfers: Kaipainen who came through the clubs academy and Kholm whose talent was nurtured by our wonderful trainers and sold for a healthy profit. We are constantly trying to make our youth programme even more lucrative, but we are being sensible with the scaling up process as we become more familiar with the market.

Thanks for reading and I hope you can support us during the rest of the campaign. UP THE FOSSE!
