Leicester Fosse

3rd Best [Season Review]

Written 19 August 2018, 22:40

After a brilliant start to the season, 'The Fosse' were top of the league after 15 games, having not lost a single game. But then all of a sudden our form turned to that of a midtable side, losing 7 of our last 15 games, thus only managing to finish 3rd in the league. This was extremely disappointing for everyone at the club as we believe we should've been able to get promoted as champions. The only saving grace was the clubs promising run in the Newcomers Challenge where we got to Round 7, 1 round away from placing in the money, this is the highest we have reached since the clubs return in 2018.

We made 1 signing right at the beginning of the season bringing in central midfielder Sisa Soaise and then made 1 more signing at the end of the season bringing in attacking midfielder Nuri Guzel. These 2 signings leave us with this tactic.
A 3-1-3-1-2 formation, and I am content with every member of the starting 11 apart from our left winger Jorge Mario Sainz who is 29 years old and only 49 rated (the lowest on the team). So whenever we have the funds (probably at the end of the season) we will be looking to replace him. That will probably be the last signing for a while as we want some return on our investment by raking in ticket sales and prize money over the next few seasons.

We performed the first stadium expansion in years in anticipation for division 3 football so hopefully the players can deliver next season! This gives us an expected ticket revenue of over 700k a season, which could easily rise to over 800/900k depending on how many home cup ties we get.

Attention now turns to next season, and once again we are targeting a top 2 finish this season, and as I ended last weeks press release, "anything less will be a major disappointment."

Thanks for the reading and UP THE FOSSE!
