Season 2020-40 was another Spanish success for Lokomotive Bryggen. Once again, the team brought home the silver medals to Bryggen Arena. The Copa del Rey campaign ended in the quaterfinals at Ørnereden, Ulm Warhawks' home turf. Through the last two seasons, Bryggen has clearly proven to be the second best team in Spain at the moment. At the same time, we also have to face the fact, that Bryggen is no match for Ulm Warhawks. Six matches so far have resulted in one draw and five defeats.

Early in the season, Portuguese left striker Lino Constantino was suddenly sold til MLS club FC John John for 22.5M. Constantino has scored an amazing 114 goals in only 192 games for Bryggen, so we were really eager to see, how the club was going replace him. Well, they didn't even try, was our first thought. 27 year old Pole Krystian Zamoyski was brought to Bryggen for 14M. Even though Zamoyski has a lot of talent, he is nowhere near the goal scorer right now that Constantino was. He still managed to find the back of the net 18 goals in 29 matches, so maybe he's not too bad a replacement after all. The sale of Constantino put a profit of 2.5M on the books

In the off-season Japanese central striker Kensaku Ota was sold for 12M (a loss of 3M) and replaced with 27 year old Australian Chris Upton to the tune of 16.5M. Within the span of a season, Bryggen has replaced all three strikers. It will be exciting to see, if the team can still be competitive in La Primera in the upcoming season.

A truely remarkable milestone took place in season 2020-40: French right defender Bernard Fleury has now played 721 matches for Lokomotive Bryggen, which makes him the most capped player in team history. Fleury hasn't even turned 30 yet, so there could be another good 150 games in him. The French legend has been part of both of Bryggen's two championship teams. What a legend!

Schindler, who was replaced in the end of last season, was sold this season with a gigantic loss of 11.3M. Nevertheless, Bryggen could publish a financial statement showing a plus of 2.1M, thanks to some good trades by Chief Dealer Lick Neeson

Congratulation with another silver medal. Tough start of the new season, but hopefully you will get a good run soon.

Yeah, this doesn't smell like another silver medal :-)
