Chelsea are going to be in big trouble if they don't sign some players soon

My first impressions:

Arsenal 4-3 Leicester City
- Leicester desperately need to learn to defend and hold onto a lead. Robert Huth and Wes Morgan are getting on a bit, and defensive reinforcements may be needed.
- Granit Xhaka is great at getting forward but dreadful at defending.
- Lacazette may be the attacking influence that Arsenal have been missing since the days of Thierry Henry.

Watford 3-3 Liverpool
- Marco Silva could revitalise Watford and take them into the top half.
- Defensively, Liverpool are woeful.
- Without the quartet of Firmino, Coutinho, Mane and Salah all on the pitch at once, Liverpool are absolutely nothing.

Chelsea 2-3 Burnley
- Chelsea clearly prioritise defence over attack after substituting Christiansen on for Boga so early on, after Cahill's red card.
- Chelsea showed great resilience, though, after being reduced to nine men.
- Sam Vokes can actually score goals. Goals, as in more than one.
- Even after losing Michael Keane, Burnley may have a shot at survival.

Crystal Palace 0-3 Huddersfield Town
- Frank de Boer did not hit the ground running.
- Mounie is a great signing for Huddersfield.
- Huddersfield - as much as it pains me to say it - could cause a few surprises this season.

Everton 1-0 Stoke City
- The Everton move seems a very good fit for Rooney.
- Pickford should be England's number one.
- Both teams were pretty evenly matched, despite Everton signing a load of unknown quantities.

Southampton 0-0 Swansea City
- Could be a difficult season for Southampton.
- Fabianski isn't quite a spent force yet.

West Bromwich Albion 1-0 AFC Bournemouth
- West Brom are still set-piece central under Pulis.
- Defoe may have only been signed as backup for Benik Afobe.
- Jay Rodriguez is a real threat for West Brom.

Brighton & Hove Albion 0-2 Manchester City
- Moneybags City outclass Brighton, who have kept the core of their Championship squad.
- Brighton need a striker badly.
- Man City are my strong favourites for the title...Walker and Mendy look quality as a wingback pairing.

As an Arsenal fan, if we sign Virgil van Djik and William Carvalho to complete the spine, we'll have a decent push for the title

Get rid of the dead wood aka Kieran Gibbs, Mathieu Debuchy, Carl Jenkinson to free the wage bill, it shouldn't be a problem smiley

Watford quickly moving on up...

Remember when Marco Silva was viewed as a bizarre appointment for Hull after "only" having success at Olympiakos and in Portugal?
