after my recent lottery win player sold for 9million most spent upgraded to doctor upgraded training ground and bought my first 2million+ player

You should have gotten at least the Standard Training Facility, it's where it starts being profitable to train 18-20yo DCs with trainer. which in turn will help you upgrade to LTF in 2-3 monts on training alone.

I did consider that option but thought with what I had left i could not buy enough talented players at the moment to make it worthwhile

Upgrading your training facilities should be your priority then your pitch .

Buying a 2M player on your ground is not worth it.
and with enough scouting you can get trainable players like previously described for 55-199K/player. So minimum amount needed was 1.1M if you want to be productive out of the gate, or keep some players for training and some cash for trading and once you sell enough traded players you can replace them one by one with trainable players
