Does team rating affect performance?

Each season I hire 5 (maybe once a month 4 if I feel generous to give one away smiley )

Does this affect how my team will perform as my average is skewed lower with 5 players rated between 1 - 5?

Would be curious to know - haven't checked anywhere if it says.

As far as I know club rating is based on your best line up, not all players.

How are club ratings calculated? :
"Club ratings are designed to indicate the overall strength of a club's best lineup. More specifically it is an average of the ratings of your best players in each chain (keepers, defenders, midfielder and forwards)."

But to answer the question, no, your team rating doesn't affect performance, but the ratings of the 11 players you have on the field does.
