Hope not John!
No surprise to me that So Many of your colleagues have smiley
And all the government can do is to encourage us all to get out and about socialising again.... smiley
I probably shouldn’t talk too much about it but I think 70-100 staff have tested positive now. The hospital is on lockdown. A&E is diverting people away. It all started because of two people. One being a patient and the other being someone who came to teach a training course... than it just spread like wild fire with nobody knowing that they both were positive.

The patient denied having it and kept walking around touching things sneezing coughing etc.. they are in ITU now... but they spread it over the ward they was on. The staff picked it up and spread it around without knowing.

The other came in to teach itu staff and others about niv training. They was positive but nobody knew.. picked it up from them and spread..

I have some symptoms nothing crazy yet but that could be just a normal cold but yeah I have to stay home now til the test is back.

Do you know how long that'll take?

I’m good for now! Just saying the 2nd wave is coming and most likely will be much worse than the first one. Doubt there will be another lockdown as business and economically will just be done. But people need to take more caution. All it takes is one twat to spread it around and boom.

So,
in terms of "How safe do you now feel?"
I was getting to the stage - from reading our local "new cases" figures (single digit figure for the last
5 weeks - combined!) - that I was beginning to feel happier to get out and about again.
Apparently it's now safe to start going to the pub etc and I'd've loved to take advantage of a half price meal out courtesy of HMG. > I was hoping to be ready to try that by the end of August.
But, how that - or the pub - can be safer that sensible once a week food shopping? - I just don't understand.
Now, - as of next week - it's blatantly obvious to me that the same HMG know something I don't.
If it's no longer safe to go shopping without a mask (- late at night when sometimes we are literally the only people in the shop we use!), then I will admit to being so confused now that in terms of the "fear factor" I'm back to where I was 4 months ago at the start of all this.
There is absolutely no chance that I'll be expanding my lifestyle for the foreseeable future.
I had been happy with all the precautions I was taking, but this face mask instruction has set me right back to square one.

Charles I don’t know if it’s public info or not.

But I know they consider covid now as “airborne” and the infection rate has mutated and is much more infectious now but the sametime apparently the death rate has decreased in terms of life/death ratio.

Second wave is slowly coming. It will be bigger.

Which makes perfect sense in terms of bringing in the wearing of face masks - which I have nothing against - and will gladly do - but no sense whatsoever in opening up all these other things where people are going to be mixing in close proximity!
I just wish they'd stick to some safe consistency.

Completely agree with this.

What they do now just contradicts pretty much everything, you need a mask for a loaf of bread, but not for a pint at the pub smiley

Its just ridiculous at this point.

How can you drink a pint with a mask on?
